Kevin has been enjoying Lake Oconee since 1989. He and wife Kim, have 3 children & in 2012 moved from Grayson, Georgia, into Reynolds Lake Oconee.
Originally from Newnan, Georgia, Kevin has been on the water since before he could walk, and boating solo from the age of 8. “My love for being on or around the water has never wavered.”
Spending the majority of his career working in the tire business with his father-in-law, he had the opportunity to change directions and join the marine industry. Having been a service manager on both Lake Oconee and Lake Sinclair, it was during this time he learned of FuelBote and realized the potential he had on Lake Oconee. After lengthy research and analysis, he decided it was time to act!
Kevin’s calling is to help everyone get the maximum enjoyment from their time on the water. Realizing the needs of part-time and full-time residents, he decided to create two businesses. RedCarpet Marine Services, a private marine concierge concept, and FuelBote, which he asked Eric to partner with him one night over dinner.
The work began, and he took his leap of faith! After securing the rights to FuelBote for all of Lake Oconee, countless hours were put in by Kevin & Eric to get the high number of approvals needed, to satisfy all requirements, and create the business from the ground up.
Kevin would like to take this time to thank Georgia Power for helping this vision come to life, and the surrounding counties’ Board of Commissioners and Fire Departments for their support and approval.
